A Leeds United fan who went into the technical room on Saturday and shoved Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe (45) in the chest has been given a lifelong ban.

In the dying seconds of a nail-biting Premier League game that ended 2-2 at Elland Road, Howe was shoved.
"Leeds United can confirm that an arrest has been made following an incident at our Premier League match against Newcastle United today, and a lifetime ban has also been issued," a statement on the Yorkshire club's website said.
Howe claimed to have no memory of the incident but urged tighter security.

He remarked, "I can't remember much about it; it's not what you expect." He said something to me that I can't repeat before he was led away, but moments like that make you reflect," she continued.
"The staff's safety is of the utmost importance, and we must keep this in mind and draw lessons from it. Nobody should encounter such a situation while playing their favorite sport. Nobody ought to worry about their own safety.
Newcastle was left in third place with 66 points from 35 games after the draw, which saw Leeds miss one penalty and Callum Wilson of Newcastle score two of them. Manchester United remained in fourth place. Liverpool is in fifth place with 62.
